CROSS RIVER: LOCAL GOVT MINISTRY DONATES ITEMS TO ORPHANAGE HOME

In a bid to cushion the effect of hardship amongst the less privileged ones in the society, The Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Dr. Mrs. Stella Odey-Ekpo has donated items and food stuff worth thousands of niara to the Infant Orphanage Home, Bateba, Calabar

The Commissioner, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. MaryJane Ebri expressed appreciation to the keepers of the home for being instrumental to the development and upbringing of the children. Adding that, the responsibilities saddled on them is yielding great results through the present and future successes of the children.

She stressed that the Ministry’s commitment to serving humanity from the grassroot is a demonstration of good governance which the Governor of Cross River State Prof. Ben Ayade has overtime displayed. Mrs Ebri further disclosed that the visit to the orphanage was an initiative of the Ministry’s fellowship.

In the same vein, the coordinator of the MLGA Fellowship Pastor Harrison Ogar while addressing the children at the home admonished the children to be obedient as well as show love to one another even as Christ did for humanity.

Responding, the Reverend Sister and Mother of the home thanked the Ministry for the visit. She prayed that the good gesture be replenished by God.

The event was graced by and heads of departments of the Ministry and featured prayer session, presentation of food items and a group photograph.
