Army conducts free medical outreach in Cross River State

In line with the Scheduled Activities for the ongoing EXERCISE STILL WATER, 130 Battalion Nigerian Army Ogoja had conducted free medical outreach to some Ogoja Communities. The outreach was held at RCM Primary school Utanga Obanliku Local Government Area Cross River on 30th October 2021

In her remarks, the Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area Hon (Mrs) Margaret Inde who received the Commanding Officer and members of the medical outreach team in appreciated the Nigerian Army for this laudable initiative saying that this kind of gesture is the first of its kind at Utanga community. She admonished the indigenes of Utanga to take advantage of this opportunity and take care of their health.

In the remarks of the Commanding Officer Major Faruk Umar noted the medical outreach was part of the Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) programmed with the ongoing EXERCISE STILL WATER. The aim was also to strengthen relationship between the military and the community not to scare people away but build synergies and assist in information gathering on security treat around the community.

The Paramount Ruler of Obanliku Local Government Area Ambassador Dr Amos Item JP also in appreciation assured the Nigerian Army of the traditional rulers support when necessary.

The Medical Services rendered to members of the community includes; health awareness, health talks, medical examination, disbursement of drugs, dental checks, free eye glasses and a host of others.
