The member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr Alex Egbona has spoken of God’s lavish blessings towards him and his family. He said he has enjoyed so much of God’s love, security and provisions in many areas.

Egbona said this on Sunday at the Hermon City Church, Calabar, when he led members of his immediate family to appreciate God. Saying that he decided to do a strictly low-key family thanksgiving, Egbona noted that he has henceforth decided to live a life of constant thanksgiving.

“I have decided to come here with my immediate family to thank God for his goodness. Of course everybody knows that if I were to do an elaborate thanksgiving, perhaps this big hall would have even become too small for us.

“One of the many blessings of God is that he has surrounded me with good followers, political associates, allies and all that. But today is not a day for a massive thanksgiving. Today, I decided to appear before God, just myself and my family, to thank him. He has over tried for me and my family.

“In the near future, as God preserves us, we will come and keep coming to thank God. He deserves my constant praises. See what he did for me during my election in 2019. See what he did for me when I had those court cases. See what he did for me during the rerun. See how he has helped me to conduct my affairs as a legislator. See how he has protected my constituents. He deserves my thanks all the time.”

He said he decided to take advantage of the availability of the head pastor of his church, Pastor Oguyinka Folarin at the anniversary of the church, to thank God publicly because of the pastor’s role in his election.

“When I learnt that our head pastor was coming to town, I decided to quickly bring my family for this thanksgiving because he was instrumental to my political victories.

“My pastor came to my village and prayed everywhere and made some prophetic declarations about my political project and when the election came, I won. He has not been around and I needed to publicly acknowledge God’s grace in his life, hence this thanksgiving. It is a quiet one. More will come because God has been very good to me and my family.”
